So when the opportunity came to install a one-of-a-kind Opus Innovations Titanium Exhaust on this RS6 Avant — the very first one of its kind as far as we know — we teamed up with our good friends at Hyer Quality Detail in Tempe to make it happen.

The Install: Smooth Sailing… Almost.

Installing a titanium system of this complexity is no small feat, but overall, the install went impressively smooth. That said, we did run into one minor hiccup: a software-related issue with the valve open/close system.

Turns out, there was a small mistake on Opus’s side regarding the valve control configuration. Fortunately, it was quickly diagnosed, corrected, and from what we’ve heard, that issue has since been fully resolved for future production units. It’s the beauty of being first — you help dial in the process.

Opus doesn’t mass-produce these systems. Each exhaust is made to order — meaning once you place your request, you’re added to a waiting list. Your system is then custom-built to your specification.
