Haus of Euro Hits COTA for Formula 1 & the Porsche Cup
Every so often, you get a phone call that makes you feel like you’ve just won the lottery. For us, that call came from our friends at Liqui Moly USA after winning a Pro-Line shop lottery and inviting Haus of Euro on an all-expenses-paid trip to the Formula 1 United States Grand Prix and the Porsche CUP race at the legendary Circuit of the Americas (COTA) in Austin, Texas.
Unfortunately, we couldn’t bring the entire crew — though we joked about pulling straws to see what lucky 2 would go. In the end, sending Richard, one of our owners, and Josh, our marketing and brand manager (and lifelong motorsports enthusiast and SIM racer), made perfect sense to represent Haus of Euro on this dream weekend with Liqui Moly.
Arriving in Austin – The Adventure Begins
Touching down in Austin, our Liqui Moly hosts greeted us with a cool classic, hippie painted bus reserved for the weekend. As we pulled up to COTA, you could already hear the unmistakable roar of the Porsches CUP cars echoing in the distance during their qualifying session — the sound alone enough to send chills down any motorsports enthusiast’s spine.
The first stop? Naturally, we headed straight to the track to catch those Porsches in action. Watching them carve through COTA’s turns in person is a completely different experience — you can feel the speed and precision in every pass.
A Little Shopping (and Some Sticker Shock)
After soaking in the the race action, we decided to browse the F1 merchandise tents — which quickly turned into an eye-opening experience. Let’s just say prices were... elevated. Seeing $100–$150 shirts that sell online for half that price was tough, especially knowing how many fans save up for months (or even years) to attend a race like this.
That said, after some financial talk Richard still snagged a slick hoodie (we’ll keep the price off the record), and Josh couldn’t resist a limited-edition Ayrton Senna jacket — only to find it online the next day for half the cost after being told it wouldn’t be available elsewhere. Safe to say, he’s still recovering from that one.
Three Days of Pure F1 Racing Bliss
Liqui Moly made sure we were fully taken care of — from flights and accommodations to some amazing dinners — allowing us to fully enjoy the entire three-day race weekend. We took in everything: Practice sessions, Qualifying, the Sprint race, and, of course, Sunday’s F1 Grand Prix.
If you’ve ever raced COTA on a SIM or watched it on TV, trust us — it doesn’t even come close to capturing how massive this track really is. Between the sweeping elevation changes and the sheer scale of the venue, it’s a world of its own. By the end of each day, Richard and Josh were averaging over 20,000 steps just trying to see it all. Add in the Texas heat and humidity, and let’s just say sunscreen became a crucial pit stop.
A Weekend to Remember
When all was said and done, it was an unforgettable experience for Haus of Euro. From world-class racing to connecting with fellow enthusiasts and industry partners, every moment was special.
We can’t thank Liqui Moly USA enough — not only for hosting such an incredible weekend, but also for being a trusted partner in our daily operations. Their top-tier motor oils and lubricants keep our customers’ European machines running at their best, and opportunities like this are just another reason we’re proud to be part of the Liqui Moly family.
Until Next Time, COTA
Haus of Euro left Austin inspired, recharged, and more motivated than ever to bring that same passion for performance and precision back home to our customers. Because whether it’s on the racetrack or in the shop — we’re always chasing excellence, one drive at a time.
